RE: Cougar 245RKS

We have the exact same floor plan but ours is a 2003 245efs. It was an eastern one we bought at the pomona rv show a few years ago. We love the layout and have used it alot. I took the plastic panels off the bottom because we had mice using it as their floor. With the plastic panels off it has been easier to do upgrades. The only thing we do not like is the fold out couch. I also took apart the entertainment system and replaced the crt tv with a lcd one. I found that behind the stock tv was lots of room if i removed the side panels.

RE: polar package

I have the eastern cougar with the enclosed underbelly. I took the panels off because there were more of a pain. I had rodents use the panels to nest in. All that is under there is the panels and a 2 inch heated duct. I live in and travel mostly in the western states so no need for the underbelly. It has been so much easier to add and modify stuff without the panels.

RE: satelite

This is what I had campingworld install. It has the digital read out inside the rig. I always keep the portable one just in case i get somewhere I cant get a signal. I have dish and dont really need hd while camping. I just take one of my older dish boxes from the house when going camping.

RE: Good Flag Pole and Mount

I have the 22foot fiberglass telescoping pole and ladder mount holder. They both work great. Once in a while the telescoping will drop down, but the mount works fine. The pole just sits in the holder by about 2 feet, cant come out on its own, snug fit.I got my pole, holder, flag and pole light from richardsonsrv, they also sell on ebay. The holder is made real well and dont think the winds would effect it being attached to the ladder at all.

RE: Flag pole lights

this is where I got mine, I have the multi colored one though. Works great and can be seen for a long distance. It came with a shaft that fits inside my fiberglass flag pole.

RE: Install a larger freshwater tank?

I had the same problem. I did the easiest most in expensive I could figure out. I purchased a 50 gallon tank that fits in the bed of the truck in front of the 5th wheel hitch. I have an electric pump that I use to transfer from the tank in the truck to my fresh water inlet.

RE: Disable built in battery charger?

My rv is in storage, I will check out the circuit breaker idea.
I bought the rv new, so mine should still be hardwired to circuit breaker
Reefer is on gas when boondocking.
Then only time I have a problem is when the batteries are low, on board charger is running full, so when I try to start up air conditioner it kicks fuse off on generator.
When charging I usually have onboard charger and portable 3 stage charger going at same time but roof air set to off if doing it this way.
If breaker idea is not feasible then how is the switch installed? If possible.

RE: Disable built in battery charger?

When I plug in the converter with low battery's and try to run the roof air it kicks off my generator. If the batteries are charged and the converter/charger is not working then the roof air will start fine.

RE: Disable built in battery charger?

I have an 400 watt inverter installed.
I have 4 golf cart batteries.
I have an external 3 stage battery charger that I use to charge my golf cart batteries when dry camping.
I have separated the living room receptacles with a toggle switch
I want to just temporarily disable the charging part of the unit.
I have a generator that will not start up the air conditioner if the battery bank is low. I have to get a full or almost full charge on the batteries before I can start the roof air. I dry camp in the desert and the wifey watches tv a lot.

Disable built in battery charger?

On my 5iver I have a Magnetek 6300a converter with a built in battery charger. My question is there a way to temporarily disable the battery charger? Can I add a switch to turn off the battery charger or pull a fuse?

RE: Bringing scooter along- need advice

I had a rack mounted above the cab of my truck to accomodate my quad. I use a winch and ramps to get it up there. I did something similar to this.

I have one installed. I had it welded on then lowered my hitch a extra few notches to make it ride where it used to. It works great for me.

Thanks I will try that this weekend. That is exactly how it happened to me, got it out of storage, hot day. I will let it just sit for a while before I run the air.

RE: Need Advise Boliy Pro3600SI

I have had mine for about 6 months. It starts on the first 2-3 pulls. During the summer I was running my 13.5 air off the boliy and it kept tripping the breaker on the boliy. Took me a few times to get it running but worked fine after that. I had not ran the air for a while in the rv so not sure why.
What tweeks have been done to the boliy?
